Mark Sturtevant on CDC midges:
CDC midges are the easiest flies you will ever tie, even in those tiny sizes that tend to scare some fly tiers. Wrap a gray, black or olive body with your tying thread and tie in a pinch of white CDC fibers for a swept back wing. If you tie it in a little too long don’t worry, just trim the back of the wing even with the back of the hook bend. Whip finish twice and you’re done!
